Who Should Join FABA?
Anyone interested in human behavior is welcome to
join. FABA is open to university and college faculty,
basic and applied researchers, professionals and
practitioners in behavior analysis, behavior therapy, or
related professions such as psychiatry, education, social
work, nursing, rehabilitation, physical, speech, music,
and occupational therapy. Our members include Qualified
Mental Retardation Professionals, psychologists, behavior
program supervisors, administrators, program directors,
direct care staff, and students.

Reduced rates for the annual
meeting.
- FABA members enjoy greatly reduced rates for
this professional conference.
Conference
Proceedings.
- The abstracts of all papers presented at the
annual meeting are published in a book of proceedings.
FABA is the only state association to offer this
permanent record of the accomplishments of its
members.
Professional
Representation.
- FABA has retained the services of a respected
law firm to represent the interests of FABA members in
the legislature. FABA is the only behavior analysis
association in the U.S. to reach this level of
involvement in professional issues pertaining to the
profession.
Continuing Education for Licensed Psychologists.

FABA members who are licensed psychologists in Florida may
enroll for psychology CE credits at the conference (usually
from 6-12 hours are offered).
FABA offers CEs through the Association for Behavior Analysis.
FABA
Newsletter.
- Our newsletter publishes the latest information
on behavior analysis in Florida. Interviews with
prominent behavior analysts, program descriptions, and
summaries of the latest research can all be foun in
this highly readable publication.
Networking
- The FABA member network covers all of Florida
and the local chapters, which stretch from Tallahassee
to Miami, offer members the opportunity to exchange
ideas, job leads, research and treatment strategies
and professional support.
Code of
Ethics
- FABA has adopted the Behavior
Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Guidelines
for responsible conduct for behavior
analysts. The code emphasizes the responsibility of
all members to uphold the highest standard of ethics
when applying behavioral procedures. Upon joining,
FABA members agree to abide and uphold the
code.
Categories of Membership
Professional
- Any degree-holding person employed full-time
who directly provides behavioral services, supervises
the delivery of services or is part of a team of
professionals who provide behavioral training is
considered a professional member. For dues purposes
this category is further divided into those holding
the bachelor's, master's and doctoral
degrees.

Student
- This category is for any individual pursuing formal training
in the discipline of behavior analysis but not yet gainfully
employed therein on at least a half-time basis. You must be
enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time
of the annual conference to qualify for this membership category.
Members in this category are non-voting and may not hold elective
office.
Parent/Direct Care
- This category is for parents of children who
are recipients of behavioral services. This category
also includes direct care staff, individuals that
spend the majority of their working time implementing
behavioral programs. Members in this category will not
be eligible to earn continuing education credits
provided at the conference, are non-voting and may not
hold elective office.
Sustaining
- Members who are able to provide substantial
financial support to FABA beyond the required level.
Their support is greatly appreciated.
