Local FABA Chapters
FABA Local Chapters may plan Continuing Education (CE) events during Local Chapter functions. Please refer to the procedures below for requesting approval of the CE event. Local Chapter members and guests should pay $10 per hour to receive CE credits. The Local Chapter keeps $8 and $2 goes to FABA. All Local Chapter CE events should provide appropriate documentation (e.g., certificate of attendance) to participants with the FABA ACE number.
FABA Local Chapters should not offer CE credits for free. During a Local Chapter function, a speaker can give a presentation at no charge, but if attendees want CEs they need to pay $10 per hour as described above.
These rules are necessary for the approval and tracking of CE events as required by the BACB. The $2 per CE payment to FABA allows payment of the annual fee to remain an Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Provider for the BACB. This allows Local Chapters to provide CEs under the FABA ACE provider agreement.
